GHK-Cu, or Glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine copper complex, is a naturally occurring tripeptide with high affinity for copper ions. This molecule plays a role in copper homeostasis and has been studied for its potential biological activities. GHK-Cu interacts with various molecular pathways, influencing processes such as collagen synthesis, antioxidant defense, and cellular regeneration. It has been shown to modulate gene expression, particularly genes involved in tissue remodeling and repair. The copper-binding property of GHK is crucial for its function, as copper acts as a cofactor in numerous enzymatic reactions. In experimental models, GHK-Cu has demonstrated effects on wound healing, anti-inflammatory processes, and antioxidant activities, making it an interesting subject for research in dermatology, regenerative medicine, and molecular biology.

*Research chemicals are chemical substances used by scientists for medical and scientific research purposes. One characteristic of a research chemical is that it is for laboratory research use only; a research chemical is not intended for human or veterinary use. This distinction is required on the labels of research chemicals, and is what exempts them from regulation under parts 100-740 in Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations (21CFR).
