What is 5-Amino-1MQ?

5-Amino-1MQ (5-Amino-1-methylquinolinium iodide) is a small-molecule research compound that functions as a selective inhibitor of nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT). With a molecular formula of C10H11IN2 and a molecular weight of approximately 286.11 g/mol, it was first characterized in published metabolic research literature in 2018. 5-Amino-1MQ is studied in research models for its effects on intracellular NAD+ availability, methyl donor balance, and adipocyte metabolism pathways.
