Testagen is a synthetic tetrapeptide with the amino acid sequence Lys-Glu-Asp-Gly (KEDG) and a molecular weight of approximately 447.44 g/mol (CAS 1026993-38-3), developed by Professor Vladimir Khavinson at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology as a testicular tissue-specific peptide bioregulator. It was derived from testicular tissue extracts through systematic identification of the minimal active sequence retaining testis-relevant biological activity. Within the Khavinson bioregulator framework, Testagen is proposed to support Leydig cell activity, testosterone biosynthesis, and hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis regulation through epigenetic gene expression modulation.
